How To Convert Your Android Smartphone To A PS4

Android Smartphone To A PS4

Smartphones are getting better and better prepared for gamers to play on, but thanks to streaming applications, you can enjoy AAA quality games on almost any device.

No more waiting for the mobile ports of your favourite games! If you have a PS4, here you have how to play your favorite games on your smartphone with a trick, say, something strange … Do you dare?Android Smartphone To A PS4

You probably already know Steam Link, a free Valve application that lets you stream any game from your PC to your Android smartphone.

Ideal for enjoying your PC games wherever you want, whether in the comfort of your home or away. Fine for some, but what if your main gaming machine is a PS4? You know what? There’s a way…

Congratulations to James Bricknell on AndroidCentral who discovered this trick to play PS4 games on his Android phone using Steam Link.

Not only does the application work with Steam games, it lets you stream virtually anything from your PC to your smartphone. And since the PS4 allows you to send content to your PC … Well, you see where this is going.

Play ball, gentlemen! How to make it possible step by step:

  1. First, download and install the Steam Link application from the Play Store.
  2. Configure the application and pair a driver with your phone.
  3. Follow Sony’s instructions to set up the remote game on your computer.
  4. Start the Remote Play application so that you can see your PS4 screen on your computer.
  5. Start the Steam Link application.
  6. Click Start playing. Your computer screen will load in Steam’s Big Picture mode.
  7. Use Alt-Tab to select your Remote Play screen.
  8. Enjoy your PS4 games on your smartphone!

What about the inconveniences?

Sony, despite being an Android manufacturer, is not kind enough to allow Remote Play to transmit to Android devices. So what we present to you is a solution using your PC and Steam Link to complete it, as the missing link.

This is great if your PS4 is simply a better gaming device than your computer, or if you want to play exclusive PlayStation 4 games on your smartphone – it will even let you play Fortnite on Android!

But for this technique to work properly, Remote Play requires you to connect your PS4 Sixaxis directly to your PC, which will limit your autonomy.

For greater mobility, you can use a second controller: one to connect to your PC for remote playback, and one to use wirelessly to play on your smartphone.

It’s true that this is an uncomfortable configuration with many steps, but it gives you great joy: being able to play PS4 on your smartphone with a feeling of doing something more than you expected… And nobody takes that away from you.
