Windows 10: How to Disable or Remove OneDrive
Since the release of Windows 10, Microsoft has chosen to install OneDrive on all versions of the operating system.
The application is not necessarily enabled by default, but is present in the operating system by default, no matter what. But you may not need it at all.

Here's how to disable it, or even remove it completely if it really bothers you.
OneDrive, the cloud storage and synchronization application, is included in all Windows 10 editions. The service allows you to host all types of files on Microsoft servers.
Only you have access to them, unless you share them with your contacts. You can retrieve them at any time, from any device, as long as the OneDrive application has been developed on it.
The big advantage is that all the data you save in the different directories on your hard drive, which are dedicated to OneDrive, are instantly synchronized with your Cloud, so you have a connection. And since Microsoft offers all its users 5 GB of free space in the Cloud, it's quite convenient.
Reasons to Erase OneDrive
However, there are several reasons why you might want to disable the Windows 10 application.
- You don't find any use for it.
- You already have your own online storage solution, such as Google Drive, Dropbox,
- You're worried about the security of your data and don't want to hear about any cloud services.
- The application runs in the background and synchronizes with the cloud at all times when changes are made to local files. So OneDrive can ruin the performance of a small machine.

This option is quite simple. If you do not delete the application at all, you have the merit of putting it on hold. Convenient if you do not have much time to devote to the operation.
This means that OneDrive will be launched manually, which can also be a good alternative for those who wish to use the application on demand.
- Click on the start menu
- Go to the configuration module.
- Click on Applications and select the Start function.
- Scroll down the list of applications to find Microsoft OneDrive.
- Put it in "Disable" and that's it.

Sometimes it may not be uninstalled, in this case you can always force it through a series of command lines.
