How to have a safer Facebook account in 3 steps
We give you three tricks to increase the security of your Facebook and to use it without risks.
In today's world, account hijacking is unfortunately something common that has happened to everyone at least once, and many times it's not so much because of its mistake but because of massive hacking into websites and networks where pirates take thousands of accounts.

Want to use Facebook quietly, without worrying every time you log in? Well, you don't have to install anything extra, just spend some time configuring the app options:
Two-step authentication
An effective and secure method, two-step authentication is a security feature that, along with your password, helps protect your Facebook account.
If you set this feature, you will be prompted to enter a special security code or confirm your login attempt each time someone tries to access Facebook from a computer or mobile device that we don't recognize.
You can also receive alerts when someone tries to log in from a computer we don't recognize, to activate or manage authentication in two steps:
- Go to your security and login settings by clicking the upper right corner of Facebook, and then click Settings > Security and Login.
- Scroll down to Use two-step authentication and click Edit.
- Choose the authentication method you want to add and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Click Activate when you've selected and activated an authentication method.
There are different authentication methods you can use with your Facebook account when logging in from an unrecognized computer or mobile device:
- Mobile phone text message (SMS) codes
- Code Generator Security Codes
- Use your security key on a compatible device
- Security codes of a third party application
- Approve your attempt to log in from a device recognized by Facebook
- Use one of the printed retrieval codes
You can use as many authentication methods as you want, but as a minimum you must have activated the text message codes (SMS), or a security key and the code generator.
Establish Trusted Contacts
If you can't sign in to your account, you can choose friends to be trusted contacts who can help you sign in again. To ask for help from your trusted contacts:
- Click Forgot your account? on the login page.
- If prompted, search for your account by entering your email, phone, username, or full name, and click Search.
- Read the list of email addresses that appear on your account. If you don't have access to any of them, click No longer have access?
- Enter a new email address or phone you know you can access and click Continue.
- Click Reveal my trusted contacts and enter the full name of one of your trusted contacts.
- You'll see a set of instructions with a special URL. The URL contains a recovery code to which only your trusted contacts have access. Call your friends and give them the URL so they can open the link and give you the security code.
- Use the recovery codes provided by your trusted contacts to access your account. When you have to ask for the special security code, call your friends or talk to them personally. If your account has been hacked, someone else may have access to your email account.
Customize privacy settings
Privacy is essential in social networks, because although they are public, the user has the right to have a private environment of trust. Facebook allows you to adjust different privacy levels based on different options:
- Publications for everyone or just your contacts
- Receive friend requests from anyone or just friends of your contacts
- Whether or not to allow search engines outside Facebook to link to your profile
