How about going a step further and making your own sourdough?

Don't worry. It's super fast and easy to do. All it takes is a few natural ingredients and a little patience.

And you'll have plenty of dough for your pizzas and homemade breads. Check this out:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 1/2 cups of hot water
  • Glass or clay container
  • 1 wooden spoon

- A kitchen cloth

How to do it

1. Pour the flour into the bowl.

2. Add the hot water.

3. Stir with a wooden spoon until the dough is thick enough.

4. 4. Cover the container with a cloth to allow air to pass through.

5. Leave to rest for four days at a temperature of 20 to 25 °C. Then small bubbles will appear.

6. After four days, add one cup of flour.

7. Then half a cup of water to obtain the consistency of a bread dough.

8. Stir.

9. Let it rest again for a day in a warm place.

Result

There you go, you've made your own yeast 🙂

Now it is ready to be used to make your bread or pizza.

Conservation

To preserve and maintain the rest of the yeast, put it in a closing jar. And keep it in the refrigerator.

To refresh your sourdough, simply add a little flour and water every 3 or 4 days.

Remember: if you need it to make a recipe, take out the sourdough the day before.

You can also store it in the freezer and refresh it before use.

How to accelerate the fermentation of the sourdough?

If you want your sourdough to ferment faster, choose a minimum flour. You can even use a wholemeal flour.

Alternatively, take a rye flour that speeds up the fermentation.

There is another little trick to speed up the fermentation: it is to put some honey in the initial preparation.

If you want to personalize your sourdough, choose the flour you like, either gluten-free or gluten-free.

Precautions

Sourdough is the result of fermentation between the water and flour mixture. It is therefore a living product that can evolve rapidly.

If it smells bad, don't hesitate to throw it away, as it has probably deteriorated.

Ingredients

  • 500 g of flour
  • 150 g of sourdough
  • 10 g of salt
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 350 ml of water

How to do it

1. Pour all ingredients into a container.

2. Knead them together to obtain a soft dough.

3. Put your dough in a bowl.

4. Cover it with a cloth.

5. Let the mass rest for at least 2 hours.

6. Knead the dough again.

7. Extend it.

8. Then decorate it with the ingredients of your choice.

9. Put your pizza in the oven for 15 minutes at 220 °C.

Result

Here you go, your homemade pizza is ready 🙂
