How to archive chats on WhatsApp
Archiving chats in WhatsApp lets you keep interesting conversations
Archiving chats in WhatsApp is a feature that allows you to archive conversations or chats. This, in turn, removes from the screen chats those conversations in which you are no longer participating, without the need to delete their messages and files.

You only have to move them to a more private place to avoid seeing them constantly, but with the possibility of consulting them again at any time.
Archive chats in WhatsApp
As time goes by, more and more WhatsApp chats accumulate on your device from different contacts and groups of friends. They take up a lot of space and slow down the equipment, but you may also want to prevent someone from accessing them.
A very safe option is to delete all the conversations, but if you want to keep some of them, the best alternative is to archive them and your device will "hide" them from the general list without deleting them and you will be able to see them again and recover them whenever you want.
The Archive Chats feature allows you to hide a conversation from the Chats tab and return to it whenever you want.
Please note that when you archive a chat, you will not be deleting it or saving it to your SD card.
Procedure for Archiving a Chat
- In the Chats tab, press and hold the chat you want to archive.
- From the top menu, select the Archive Chat icon.
Once you perform the action of archiving the chat, you will no longer be able to see it in your Chat tab.
Procedure for unarchiving a chat
- Scroll to the bottom of the Chats tab.
- Click on Archived Chats
- Press and hold the chat you want to unarchive.
- From the top menu, select the Unarchive Chat icon.
Procedure for archiving all chats
- In the Chats tab press the Menu button and select Settings.
- Click on Chats > Chats History > Archive all chats.
- On the chat settings screen, click Archive All Chats.
Keep in mind that if you've already archived a chat and you receive a new message in that chat, it will appear again in the chat tab.
Remember also that if you look for a person or a word used in any of the conversations of WhatsApp, even if it is archived, it will appear in the results, and also that you can find it by clicking on the word "Archived" that you will see on the right of your screen.
