How to clean an iron in just 5 steps!

Clean an iron

It is one of the most commonly used appliances in any home, but just like a refrigerator or vacuum cleaner, it requires a certain level of maintenance. Today we share the 5 steps to clean an iron quickly and evenly.

Many of us don’t love the idea of spending valuable hours smoothing the wrinkles of jackets, dresses, school shirts or even towels.

However, having immaculate garments is essential to give a good image. What actually happens is that with repeated use, a thin layer of mineral residue can appear on the plates; and this prevents the steam from flowing or also from being transferred to the clothes. To avoid these inconveniences, just follow this simple guide.

Cleaning an iron is easier than you think

  1. First make sure it’s unplugged and cold. Meanwhile, prepare a simple pasta with one part water and two parts baking soda.
  2. Spread all over the metal surface, and with the help of a cloth make it penetrate into the grooves. Let him act for 10 minutes.
  3. Use a damp towel to stir the pasta. You’ll see that the dirt and accumulated rust will also come out. If you notice some stains that didn’t come out, try a solution of vinegar and salt.
  4. The next step in cleaning an iron is to fill the tank with a mixture of water and vinegar. In any case, check in the manual that you can use this last agent; if not, use only water.
  5. Connect the iron and take it to maximum temperature. Use a piece of cloth and iron as you always do. You’ll notice how all the dirt comes out and the steam isn’t as clear as ever. After about 10 minutes, disconnect and finally empty the container.

Once you have finished cleaning an iron, you can save it on a regular basis. Please note that depending on the frequency and loads of clothing, the procedure will have to be repeated once a month, every two or three at most.
