Depending on what we have stained, the cleaning process may vary. Although one of the most effective formulas for the vast majority of cases is the main chemical component of nail polish remover.

So, you have to take into account that acetone could fade the garment or the fabric in question, so it is always advisable to make a small test in a part not very visible to see if it is feasible to apply this method.

How to remove superglue stains on clothing

In order to clean the superglue of the clothes, or of any other fabric, it is recommended, this time yes, to let that the glue has dried in its totality, so that at the time of rubbing we do not extend the stain.

In addition, in this way, we will also be able to avoid that the cloth, rag or cleaning utensil that we use does not adhere to the stain.

  1. Take a piece of white cloth from any other old garment you don’t use, moisten it in a little acetone and put it on top of the glue stain.
  2. Once 2-3 minutes have passed, using a brush, start rubbing until you see that the superglue begins to soften.
  3. Repeat as many times as necessary until all layers of the adhesive have loosened.
  4. Apply a little liquid detergent on the stained area and then put it in the washing machine and put the washing program that you normally use.
  5. Once you remove the garment, check if there are any traces of the stain, since if you put it in the dryer or apply some heat while there are still traces of glue, they will end up being fixed even more.
  6. If the garment has been made with wool, linen, silk or some kind of delicate fabric, go to a professional.

Note: if the fabric has been pierced by the glue, simply apply the same process but, this time, doing it on the other side.

How to remove superglue stains on plastic

For plastic surfaces that have been stained with glue, the use of acetone, nail polish remover or similar products is not recommended, as they could end up damaging the object in question as well as adhering the stain even more to the surface.

  1. Moisten a piece of cloth in a solution of warm water and soap. Place it on the stain. Put something on top of it to make pressure and leave it for a few hours for the adhesive to soften.
  2. Remove any soft glue with a spatula or some round utensil, and repeat the same process until it is completely removed.
  3. Instead of soap, you can also choose, with the help of a cotton wool, to use ethyl alcohol, although as we always recommend, first try this technique in an inconspicuous area so as not to damage the plastic.
  4. Using another cloth, remove as much glue as possible. Repeat until it disappears.
  5. Rinse the area with plenty of clean water.

How to remove superglue spots on the skin

Who hasn’t accidentally stuck their skin or fingers together? If this is your case, you’d better act as soon as possible.

Note: if the glue has dried out, do not try to separate your fingers, as the only thing you will get is to hurt yourself.

The method explained below will work much better for you:

  1. Using cotton well moistened with acetone, rub the affected area to soften the adhesive.
  2. Once you notice that the fingers are letting go, rub them together until you can separate them.
  3. When you have, wash your hands with soap and water to remove any remaining acetone and glue.
  4. If for any reason you do not have acetone, the use of liquid soap and hot water is perfectly valid. Simply soak the affected part of the skin and, although it takes a little longer, it will be just as effective.
