How to shop at Play Store
Have you bought or been given a new smartphone and, after looking at each of its curves, are you ready to access Google Play? Don’t you have a credit card?
Don’t get depressed. There are alternatives.
One of the best things about the Google Play store is that if you don’t have a credit card (or don’t want to use one), there are alternative payment methods for the applications and games you’ve always wanted to have.
The Google Play shop has an infinite number of applications of all kinds, suitable for all users, however demanding they may be.
If you’re always looking for the best Android apps, Google Play won’t let you down. It’s true that a lot of them are fee-paying, but they’re worth it.
Shop Google Play with PayPal
PayPal is one of the world’s leading payment services. Why? Because it’s fast, easy to use and safe.
Through this platform you can make a lot of purchases of goods or services online, or send money to friends and family (if you are one of the most generous). All in a few clicks.
Even the Google Play store supports PayPal payments, and if you don’t have an account, it won’t take you more than a few minutes to get one. All you have to do is access the official site, click on “Create account”, select “Personal account” and enter your email address and password.
In the account you can enter the number of your bank account and credit and debit card if someday you get one. Once you’ve done this, just transfer money to your PayPal account and you’re ready to shop at Google Play.
Shop Google Play using gift cards
Another solution to not give up your online purchases in the Google store is to get a gift card.
Available in major electronics stores, Google Play gift cards offer different budgets depending on the price of the card (15, 25 or 50 euros), which can be used in seconds. All you need to do is scratch the protective film with a coin and discover the secret code.
Once the gift card is purchased, you can access the Google Store from your smartphone (or PC) to buy applications, movies, books, games, or whatever you want.
Buy from Google Play using your phone bill
Another way to buy on Google Play without a credit card is by using a phone bill. This form of payment is only compatible with some operators, so if your company is not compatible, forget about this method of payment. In Spain Movistar, Orange, Vodafone and Orange allow payments by telephone bill.
You can check this page to find out which operators allow this payment method, if any in your country. On this page you will have to unfold the option “Availability of the operator’s direct invoicing” to obtain the information.
Although it is more than obvious, it is necessary to warn that this will inflate the telephone bill, reason why it is not advisable to abuse of the purchases, you could end up with an unpleasant economic surprise as a result of the massive purchase of applications.
Bonus: do surveys in Google Opinion Rewards
Google itself gives you the chance to earn money that you can spend on Google Play. To do so, it has created an application called Google Opinion Rewards, which consists of a series of surveys aimed at improving its new products.
As soon as a new survey is available, a notification will arrive on your device, after which you will only need a few minutes to fill it in and you will have earned credits to buy applications and games.
In this case it is a payment method that requires time and effort on your part, but it will only take you a few minutes. You may be able to fill out those surveys during your return home from work, or while you’re on the sofa wandering like a champion, total, you won’t have to move from there.
Unsupported payment types
Google Play does not accept bank, electronic, or wire transfers from companies such as Wester Union or Money Gram. Although Google Play previously accepted payment via virtual credit cards (VCC), this method is no longer valid today.
