How can I polish a stainless steel sink with flour?
Actually, the idea of polishing his sink with flour seemed so crazy to me that I liked it immediately.
He had a (dirty) sink. It had (clean) flour. I couldn't help trying. Polishing is not cleaning.
It's not about removing rust or coffee stains, but about restoring the shine to your stainless steel sink which, with every use, becomes a bit boring.
Do you remember the first time you received it in your kitchen, wasn't it dazzling and brilliant? Well, now it's about returning it to its original state. So before you polish it, you're going to have to clean it up.
Step 1 Clean and dry the sink
It all depends on how much dirt you are willing to accept. Mine is quite high, so the cleaning was quick and I was content with a quick pass of the microfiber.
The important thing in this step is to dry the sink well so that no drops remain in the area to be treated, otherwise the flour will turn into a paste. I remind you that we are in the cleaning part and not in the cooking recipes.
2- Sprinkle the flour over the sink.
This is the liberating part of cleaning: to clean, let's get dirty first! As for the amount of flour, I'd say it's up to you. We do the same thing as for the countertop before working with the rolling pin, not too much and not too little.
3- Sprinkle the flour over the sink.
That's when the miracle happens. Like polishing a car, for example, with the help of absorbent paper, you will make small rolls against the walls. As I was saying, the principle resembles a body scrub. There is no need to force it, the thing is done very delicately.
Step 4 Remove excess flour
Now we have to erase their last traces. Don't put water in your sink or you will go back to the mistake you made in step 1.
To reach the perfect state, you must remove the flour with an absorbent paper.
Once most of the flour has been removed, you can iron it with microfiber to make sure it is clean.
To maintain this polished aspect of the first day, we repeat the experience once a month, which does not seem insurmountable (even for me).
A before and after that speaks for itself, doesn't it? Finally you can continue to comment, we like it!
