These do not present symptoms and there are many factors that make an individual more prone to their appearance.
Among these factors that could cause the appearance of gallstones are obesity, poor diet, a history of diabetes, having undergone a bone marrow transplant, liver cirrhosis, blood disorders that destroy red blood cells, abnormal weight loss resulting from low-calorie diets, among others.
There are two types of gallstones, those that consist of cholesterol (and are the most commonly diagnosed) and pigment stones, which are caused by excess bilirubin in the bile. Whatever the case, there are many natural methods to treat this pathology, which we will mention below.
Milk Thistle
Milk thistle is an excellent ally for fighting gallstones. This is because it contains a very bitter substance known as silymarin, which is able to stimulate the production of bile and thereby, the elimination of stones. You can have milk thistle infused three times a day for a week.
Turmeric
Turmeric is a known liver protector. It is widely used in Ayurvedic medicine for all its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and reconstitutive properties. You can consume a tablespoon of turmeric and a half of honey to keep not only the gallbladder, but the liver healthy.
Ayurvedic medicine or traditional Indian medicine has been widely studied in modern science, proving that many of its methods are very effective in treating various health disorders.
Pear
The pear is rich in pectin, a pigment that is able to soften cholesterol gallstones. This facilitates the natural elimination of calculus.
You can eat the pear for breakfast, or combine half a glass of pear juice with half a glass of water, sweetening the mixture with pure bee honey. The recommended dose is twice a day for two weeks.
Dandelion
Dandelion is an excellent liver detoxifier and stimulant, as it benefits biliary excretion. Remember that the liver and gallbladder are intimately related; if one of them fails, the other will not do its job to 100% of its capabilities. Therefore having a healthy liver will benefit the work of the gallbladder notoriously.
Dandelion is consumed as an infusion. You can accompany this preparation with a little honey to sweeten. Take this mixture two or three times a day for a maximum of three weeks to improve hepatic-vesicular work and thereby suppress gallstones.
Mint
Mint is a potent digestive, which stimulates the flow of bile and all types of digestive secretions. In addition, it has analgesic and soothing properties, which help to reduce body spasms that cause pain due to the presence of stones.
You can consume mint in infusion, sweetened with honey. The recommended dose is twice a day for four to six weeks.
Eat the infusion between meals, this will improve treatment results. If the problem persists after this time, you should go to the doctor immediately.
Lemon
Lemon is an effective natural diuretic for removing all types of impurities. In addition, lemon prevents the liver from producing cholesterol, which can solidify and form gallstones. The pectin contained in lemon is excellent for relieving the pain caused by gallstones due to body spurs.
The vitamin C contained in lemon makes cholesterol more dilutable in the presence of water, which allows proper work of the gallbladder and liver as a whole. Consume the juice of four pure lemons before breakfast accompanied by a glass of water.
The treatment can be extended for four weeks, however we recommend you to incorporate this practice to your day to day, as it is very beneficial for health in many aspects, such as strengthening the immune system.
Castor Oil
Castor oil is, in addition to a powerful natural laxative, a powerful anti-inflammatory that helps reduce the pain caused by stones in the gallbladder when we move.
Heat a cup of lukewarm water with a little oil, then soak a gauze in the mixture and rub it over the region where the gallbladder is located. Repeat the process for the duration of your treatment to eliminate the stones.
Apple Vinegar
the acidity of apple vinegar prevents the creation of cholesterol by the liver and thus, the appearance of gallstones. In such cases, vinegar has analgesic and soothing properties, which can reduce the abdominal pain caused by stones.
Consume one tablespoon of this vinegar in the company of apple juice, preferably. It will help to calm the pain in a short time.
You can apply this treatment based on cider vinegar as a preventive measure by drinking two tablespoons on an empty stomach each morning.
Tinctures of various herbs
There are different tinctures that have been shown to be beneficial to the health of the gallbladder. These are made from chamomile, belladonna, valerian and mugwort. These have analgesic properties, antispasmodic, carminative and are bitter.
You can consume herbal tinctures to treat small gallstones, in case of suffering from larger stones you should consult your doctor to find the appropriate treatment for your case. The recommended dose is no more than 40 drops per day diluted in a glass of water.
Recommendations for preventing and treating gallstones
To prevent the appearance of stones in the gallbladder must take into consideration that we must be judicious with what we eat.
It is not in vain that it is stated that "we are what we eat" because normally a person suffers from all kinds of pathologies related to the consumption of food harmful to health. Below we will give you some preventive measures to avoid the appearance of stones in the gallbladder.
Modify diet
When suffering from gallstones, specialists recommend modifying eating patterns that are harmful to health. Foods such as fried foods, sausages, red meats, whole milk and derivatives such as yellow cheese, processed foods, cookies, fried foods and sweets are extremely harmful when suffering from gall bladder stones.
If you want to reduce the chances of suffering from these stones, you should avoid overeating them, since many of the foods we have mentioned contain artificial colorants and different chemicals that the gallbladder filters and that, being excessive, can cause the appearance of calculus.
The most suitable foods to consume in case of suffering from gall bladder are fruits, vegetables, cooked vegetables, wholemeal products (bread, rice, pasta, crackers and water), grains such as oats, flaxseed, chia and any product derived from them.
There are many interesting recipes to prevent gallbladder damage that you can get online to make diet not an obligation but something fun (and delicious) to do.
Stay hydrated
Hydration is essential to improve liver and bladder function. It is very important to consume plenty of water (experts recommend 2 liters of water daily to maintain optimal hydration), juices or teas.
When the liver and gallbladder have enough water, they can remove all kinds of impurities very easily and function properly. Dehydration makes it difficult for the gallbladder, liver and kidneys to work, thus favouring the appearance of solid material.
Avoid drinking alcoholic beverages
Excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages is harmful to health. Alcoholic beverages contain a large amount of free radicals, which damage the cells of the organs that filter out impurities from the body.
Beer, for example, can cause gallstones not only in the gallbladder, but also in the kidneys and liver malfunction. For this reason, doctors advise the suppression of these substances from the diet, or to consume them with prudence as a preventive measure.
