RPGs for Android

The Google Play catalog includes some of the most popular RPG titles out there.

social network

From HD remakes to role-playing games exclusive to portable devices, here you have the role-playing games essential for all gamers.

Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition

The latest installment of Final Fantasy is one of the best adaptations of a game to the mobile world.

FF XV Pocket Ed. retains the same story you may have in large screen consoles but with graphics tailored to smartphone performance. You can play the first chapter for free

Eternium: Mage And Minions

Enter this magical world that is threatened by darkness and fight to free it. An old school RGP where the first sensation has taken me to that memory I have of the first time I played the Devil.

Improve your armor and objects, choose the right ones to get with your magic to throw light on this world of darkness.

Chaos Rings III

Chaos Rings is a title that appeared in 2010 and meant one of the great advances of games on mobile devices.

The story, which accompanies different couples who are part of a wrestling tournament, is one of the most successful seen so far on Android.

The game generally received very good reviews and its reception was so good that since then it has received three continuations and also available on Android terminals.

Ah! the game is in Japanese but you can play it perfectly, more or less....

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions

Currently Final Fantasy titles on Android abound, and this looks like it's going to go further with the arrival of Final Fantasy VII this year.

One of the most interesting is the Final Fantasy Tactics which, although unfortunately not the Advance version, is still an excellent game. It's The War of Lions, first released in 2007 on PSP.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

This game comes from the hand of BioWare. Experienced players will know that this company is responsible for current hits such as Mass Effect or Dragon Age.

Years before these two sagas arrived, BioWare developed Knights of the Old Republic, an RPG focused on the Star Wars universe that first appeared on Xbox in 2003. Hopefully we can soon see the sequel to this excellent RPG also on Android.

Baldur's Gate II

A classic of the genre also developed by Bioware is Baldur's Gate. Fans of the company's other sagas, such as Dragon Age or Mass Effect, may find this game a bit old-fashioned in its combat system or character development, but the truth is that it is the one that laid the groundwork for what would later become this development company.

It has a price of almost 8 euros, but considering that it lasts about 60 hours, it is a more than reasonable price.

Final Fantasy IV

The version of Final Fantasy IV available on Google Play is the 3D remake that was made for Nintendo DS, which is excellent news, as this version is a visual delight.

This is one of the key titles in the saga as the fourth installment introduced many of the new features that made the Final Fantasy franchise what it is today.

Dragon Quest VIII

Just like Final Fantasy, trying to choose the best Dragon Quest title is incredibly difficult. You should honestly try them all, but if you've never played any of them, this can be a good start.

Its eighth delivery saw the light for the first time on PlayStation 2 and its adaptation to Android is excellent.

Don't let its high price (17.99€) discourage you; Dragon Quest VIII has approximately eighty hours of duration.

Baldur's Gate

Another jewel of BioWare that was released in 1998 for PC and instantly became a classic of the genre.

Baldurs's Gate was able to revitalize the RPG and set the foundation that many developers would follow in the new millennium. Its sequel is also available for download on Android devices.

Chrono Trigger

What can we say about this classic of the genre? Chrono Trigger introduces us to seven characters with different motivations travelling through time.

If you've never tried this game, you shouldn't be allowed to leave home until you've completed it (which will cost you a few days, as the story is incredibly long).

Zenonia 4

This saga could become a classic very soon. Zenonia is one of the most important names among games designed exclusively for smartphones.

This is an action game that could lay the groundwork for what will be the RPG on mobile devices in the future.

Final Fantasy VI

Together with the aforementioned Final Fantasy IV, this title represents one of the most important and best defined this saga.

For many, in fact, the sixth installment of Final Fantasy is the last great game this franchise was able to deliver. Whether you've tried any of the other titles or not, this is a must-have game for any gamer.

Eve of the Genesis

It may not be as epic as the rest of the games on this list, but just because it's an exclusive RPG for Android it deserves to be mentioned.

This game has been developed by Kemco Games, responsible for other Android titles such as Covenant of Solitude.

We hope that this type of games will set a new trend for developers and that they will be encouraged to create more exclusive role-playing games for Android instead of developing remakes of classic games.

Secret of Mana

As can be seen from this list, Square Enix was once a factory of role-playing classics. Perhaps not as well known as Final Fantasy or Chrono Trigger, this game was one of the best fantasy stories that appeared on SNES in the nineties, and today you can download it from the Google Play Store for €7.99.

Dungeon Soda

Soda Dungeon is a fantastic game that pays tribute to the classic titles of the genre. Mixing humor and adventure, the main mission is to advance as far as possible through a deep cavern infested with monsters. There is no cost but there are purchases within the application.
