Why calculate the volume of water in your pool?

The calculation in detail
The calculation of the volume of water in your pool is based on the shape of the pool. First of all, the average depth of the pool must be determined by a simple calculation. If your pool does not have a slope, it is obviously useless to make this calculation.
Average depth = P1 x P2 / 2
P1 is the maximum depth and P2 the minimum.
Example: P1 = 2 m and P2 = 1,20 m, the average depth (Pm) of my pool is (2 + 1,20) / 2 = 1,60 m
The volume of water in a round pool
Volume m³ = D x D x Pm x 0,78
D is the diameter and Pm is the average depth.
Example: D = 5 m and Pm = 1.20 m, the volume of water in the pool is :
5 x 5 x 1.20 x 0.78 = 23.40 m³ or 24 m³.
The volume of water in a rectangular or square pool
Volume m³ = L x W x Dm
where L is the length, l is the width and Pm is the average depth.
Example: L = 8 m, l = 4.50 m and Pm = 1.50, the volume of water is :
8 x 4.50 x 1.50 = 54 m³
The volume of an oval pool
Volume m³ = L x W x Dm x 0.89
where L is the length, l is the width and Pm is the average depth.
Example: L = 10 m , l = 3.80 m and Pm = 1.50 m, the volume of water is :
10 x 3.80 x 1.50 x 0.89 = 50.73 m³ or 51 m³.
The volume of a free-form pool
Volume m³ = L x W x Dm x 0.85
where L is the longest length, l is the widest width and Pm is the average depth.
Example: L = 5 m, l = 3 m and Pm = 2 m, the volume of water is :
5 x 3 x 2 x 0.85 = 25.5 m³ or 26 m³.
